- Good Meal
Being a restaurant chain, Outback Steakhouses are pretty much exact copies of each other. I stopped at the one inside the Casino Royale for a late lunch/early dinner around 4 PM on a weekday. I was the ONLY customer in the place; they made a big deal out of informing me I was getting the "BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE" which is next to a window overlooking the Mirage volcano. I ordered "Alice Springs Chicken" ($15.99, grilled chicken with bacon, mushrooms and cheese) but the waiter brought me "Chicken on the Barbie" (plain chicken with barbecue sauce) instead. I told the waiter "this isn't what I asked for"; he took it away and the manager came out to apologize. I felt kind of embarassed since I wasn't complaining or upset at all. The correct food arrived pretty quickly and was excellent. The iced 22 ounce mugs of beer are a nice touch as well; many restaurants won't serve you more than a 12 ounce glass of beer at a time. Outback Steakhouse understands that a hungry guy wants big cold beers. I also had a steak at their Flamingo Road location across from Rio Suites another day; it was excellent. The atmosphere was just as nice even though I wasn't at a window seat. Both times I encountered very friendly staff and fast, attentive service.
