- Good Meal
The restaurant is small, and one could easily drive by it and never notice it, which would be a shame. When you walk in the first thing you notice is the smell, and it smelled fantastic. My boyfriend and I ordered off of the menu mainly by pointing since the waitress was not very comfortable with english. A few minutes later, the manager came out and informed us 2 of the 3 items we had ordered were not being served (the waitress was new and did not realize this, so we reordered. Lesson here, do not go by the menu! Be prepared to change your order as the selection seems to not be consistent. But when the food arrived we were happy none the less. Having never had african food before, we were unaware that we were supposed to eat it with the soft bread they brought us and asked for forks. The manager laughed, explained, and brought us the forks anyhow. We didn't use them, we enjoyed eating with our hands! The food was spicy, we had lamb and beef dishes (they were out of the chicken). The lamb had a nice curry with it and the other dishes were cooked with the seasonings. Lots of jalepeno on one of the beef dishes made for some "hotflashes", but tasty ones at that. All in all the food quality was good, and the experience was interesting. The booth was comfortable, and for 4 drinks (2 mango juices, a diet coke, and a bottled water) and 2 entrees, 2 beef one lamb, the bill was just 22 dollars. The service was quick, and other than the misunderstanding on menu items, good. They serve vegatarian meals and breakfast there also, and I would like to go back and give that a shot as well. In short, if you are looking for a good, authentic, ethnic meal with some spice, good prices, and an easy going place to eat it, this will fit the bill.
