This was our first time at Viva Mercados, and we went to their new location on South Rainbow. The service
was excellent and the food very good. We will be back!

We eat there often and really enjoy the food

If you like Mexican food you will love this place. They've got something like 11 different salsas to choose from if you order an entree that requires such a choice. One guy in our party had a steak dish with cactus pieces in it which he said was great. This place is odd in that it's located in a strip mall (not usually where I would look for a good restaurant but I guess I'll have to start now) and is fairly small. Our service and food were great. They don't split the check; we found this to be the case at many of the restaurants we visited. Can't understand that; what's so hard about it? Anyway, we will definitely be returning here next time we're in town.

We always go here everytime we are in town. The food is so very good and they have a huge menu with lots of seafood selections. The atmosphere is so very warm and cozy but a very small restaurant. It's in a strip mall and kind of hard to find. This is our all time mexican restaurant anywhere and we have been to a lot. Love it!!! Yum!Yum!

Three of us went for dinner on a Tuesday night. Service was quick, and the food was excellent. Before the meal, warm chips were served with a spicy salsa and a bowl of refried beans. The salsa was much spicier that you usually find at Mexican restaurants, but I liked that. Soup was served with all meals. I'm guessing it was a chicken-based broth, with some tomato and noodles. Very good.

I had a combination platter with a beef tamale and chicken flautas. This came with the usual rice and refried beans, plus some lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole. The only glitch was with my companions meals. Both wanted the seafood chimichanga. The waiter misunderstood and thought they were sharing one dinner, while they really each wanted there own. It was corrected in minutes when a second was brought out, and both said it was excellent.

I had the flan for dessert. This wasn't as smooth as I am used too, but it was still good. Another of us had the fried ice cream.

The total bill was about $38. We all agreed we would go back, and that the prices are reasonable, the food was excellent, and the service was friendly.

THIS IS A CHEAP VERSION OF "VIVA ZAPATA'S", I HOPE IT DOES NOT BELONG TO THE SAME OWNER, THE FOOD IS BAD, AND THE PLACE IS GHETTO. IF IT IS NOT THE SAME OWNER OF VIVA, THEN THEY DID A BAD JOB OF STEALING THE RECIPIES.

If you love Mexican food, you'll love Viva Mercados. It's my sister and brother-in-law's favorite restaurant, and we went with them. If habanero is too hot for you, get chipotle. Margaritas are good, also.
