- Good Meal
This Japanese restaurant, an offshoot of the original located in Scottsdale, is enormous with a large bar area peopled this Friday evening by The Young and The Restless and The Loud. The walls are painted in blue and silver and mirrors serve as dividers. The restaurant offers the mandatory sushi bar, several teppanyaki grills and Pacific Rim cuisine. We shared an appetizer of coconut chicken skewers with a sweet chili sauce. The plate was quite attractive with the skewers imbedded in a large pineapple segment. I initially ordered a halibut dish, but was informed it was out of season. I then followed Ms. Westie’s lead and ordered the crab crusted mahi mahi artfully arranged on top of lemon jasmine rice in a black bean buerre blanc sauce and accompanied by grilled asparagus spears. Everything was delicious though I would have been happier if the fish was a little less well done.

- Bad Meal
I am predicting this place will be out of business in a few months. I overheard a waitress complaining about her $200 paycheck bouncing and causing her account to incur overdraft fees. That said, the staff was pretty rude and short on effort to make sure we come back again. The food was also terrible. The seafood tasted old and was not fresh at all. It had that really fishy smell after it was cooked and also had a strong fishy taste. This means it's either old, sat out for a long time, or both. It was also expensive considering the quality of food. I expect top notch food when I pay that much for a meal, not something that I could find on a buffett at El Cortez.
