Sidewalk Cafe - For Breakfast

This place doesn't have much to recommend itself by but I had the best corned beef hash I've ever had. Not canned. Nobody else in our party was that impressed with their food but I sure was. Not fast, not cheap(60 bucks for 4 of us), just wanted to rave about the hash.

Sidewalk Cafe - For Dinner

I ate here twice during my stay 7/4-7/8. The first time was for an early dinner on my first day around 4p. I hadn't eaten much at all for lunch since I had been traveling so I was pretty hungry. I sat down and it took 10 minutes for someone to ask for my drink order and keep in mind there was only 1 other person in the place. When they brought my drink back I told them I was ready to order but this person told me they only bring the drinks... someone else would take my order. Ok fine so I waited another 5 minutes and I flagged down the person that brought my drink and I asked when my someone was going to come take my order and they told me right away... Finally after another 5 minutes the waitress came by and took my order and she wasn't the friendliest. Anyways.. the meal was fine but it shouldn't take that long to order when I'm 1 of 2 people in the place.

I decided to go back for a late night breakfast. I let the first experience slide since I thought maybe I was irritated since I just hadn't eaten all day. The second visit was a little different from the first but not much. The drink came faster and I did get my food a little quicker but the waiter was more interested in getting me the heck out of the place then actual customer service. He didn't ask to refill my drink or if I would like anything else but just brought my check.

In comparing this place to it's counterpart in Paris (Le Cafe Ile St Louis), I would definitely take the 3 minute extra walk for the better service and atmosphere.

We decided to stop in here for a late night meal. You could tell that we got the people that hate their jobs. The service was slow, and the food was not good for the prices that they were charging. I had a hamburger, and I would have probably been better off eating my loafers with the fries.

We wanted to eat at the Tequila Bar, but they were closed, so ended up here. Ordered shrimp cocktail. 4 medium sized shrimp for $9.95. Not worth it. The chicken tortilla soup was awful. The tortilla strips had been sitting in the broth for hours and were mushy and made the broth very thick. It was also luke warm. Yuk. The open face turkey sandwich was OK. The mashed potatos were thick and lumpy though. Definatley not worth the high price. Would not eat there again.

Thought place would be quick and easy.... How wrong! Food was ok, but not hot. Took 20mins to get drinks and then they turned up incorrect. Service was not happening. When asked for the manager, was told she was on her Breakfast, and that was in the Paris Hotel, says it all really. When the bill finialy arrived it was incorrect. Any where is better than here,

I ate here two mornings in a row at around 3 AM after doing heavy vacationing all day & night. First time, I had their "steak special" for around $10, with several Heinekens at $5.50 each. The food was very slow to arrive but was a bit above average, and nicely presented. Second time, I had a club sandwich with fries, cost was about $8 but again I added expensive Heinekens. The sandwich arrived faster than the steak, but my waiter was very confused by my initially asking for two Heinekens (since service is slow here, I wanted to avoid waiting and get 2 beers at once, instead of one at a time, since the first one would be gone in about 30 seconds). I told him I was alone and was going to drink them both by myself. He seemed to act like I was being irresponsible and was going to get drunk on 2 beers. I had a third beer while I was eating my sandwich, just to irritate him. I don't like the atmosphere either, it's too bright and they seat everyone close together in a small area. If you're staying at Bally's this is a convenient place to stop for a late dinner or early breakfast before going up to your room to sleep, since they're open 24 hours, unlike most or perhaps all the other restaurants on the property.

(Note - We also ate lunch here.)

It's not a real sidewalk cafe (in fact it's set rather far back in the casino) but the food is very good for staple fare - oatmeal at breakfast, spaghetti and meatballs at lunch. It gets the job done for hotel guests.

Went for breakfast, service was adequate, menu selection decent. Food portions were generous (unlike a 24-hr restaurant in MGM Grand) for the price. Would go back again.
