Olives is a don't bother restaurant, cheesecake factory atmosphere at fine dining prices complete with pretentions of grandure .The food is over prepared and lacks focus.
We had fresh oysters 9/10
Onion soup...awful most coffee shops can do better....hell I could do better, lacks depth of flavour and has no mouth feel also the onions were not cut corractly too chunky.
Mahi Mahi was 6/10 just OK and not distinuishable from any other fish.
The crowning dissapointment was the breaded veal with pasta, sound good don't it,but they read and cook the veal and then cover it with a pasta that has way too much flavour in it,(not in a good way either). This means the veal is lost in the dish and begs the question why bread some veal only to have the crisp coating turned to baby food where a sloppy pasta is dumped on top of it 0/10
Not even a nice try guys!
Oh and the table was too small to fit all the dishes on it.
Go to the cheesecake factory the food is better

It couldn't be a more beautiful dinner setting than to sit out on the patio overlooking the fountains. The service was very good...attentive, but relaxed and fun overall. We never felt rushed in our meal and the food was excellent.
I would go back in a heartbeat!

Lunch was good the hostess some former model type is little snobby....that's VEGAS....food was good not to pricey for Bellagio.......the restaurant is to BIG like a cafeteria feel to it didn't care for that. Back to the Hostess the former model type who was at a period in her life where she is starting to realize that she is going to have to work a job like everyone else and didn't seem happy about this situation she was in well it showed in her hostess effort!!! So the clock has struck midnight and the carriage has turned into a pumpkin....sorry Cinderella!!

Beautiful restaurant with fantastic food. Staff is friendly and fun and if you are smart enough to stand in line at 4:45pm you will get your choice of tables for a fountain view. 15 min wait for a spectacular view is worth it!!

Since we were going to Cirque de Soleil's "O" that evening, we wanted to go to a restaurant at the Bellagio for convenience. We decided on Olives because www.visitlasvegas.com shows an entree price of $25-$35. This medium price would be perfect since this wasn't planned as our fine-dinning evening.
When we made the reservations we asked for a table with a view (of the fountains) and were told they could make the request but no promises as the "view" was 1st come 1st serve & we could ask the entry staff how long the wait would be (outside our reservation time) for the "view". We did arrive on-time for our reservations & made such request. We waited an additional 30 min (we were the ONLY people waiting). We received the table BESIDE the table with a view. So we asked the only staff we saw, a guy wandering around in a suit. He said that table had been reserved. We stated our reservation request. He said, "Well a LOCAL is waiting on his wife for their anniversary. He's at the bar & he was here 1st."
So, we order our food, which was NOT $25-$35 entree. The cheapest entree is $37. My husband had a pasta dish $42 and I had steak $49. His pasta was a very small dish & he said it was "good". My steak was cooked perfectly and tasted good. However, I have a problem with a lot of fat being on a steak that I have to cut through. On top of that, the steak knife wasn't sharp enough to cut through it, so my husband had to cut my steak for me a couple of times.
I believe the waiter sensed our unsatisfied attitude and brought free desserts, which were beautiful and very good. Dessert was the best part of our meal. About the time we were finishing dessert, the table with a view beside us was filled with a table of four. It looked to us like they all entered through the front door together.
We wouldn't have complained about the price if the food had been better.

I can honestly say this was the worst meal that my husband and I ever had in Las Vegas, my husband ordered a risotto cooked in truffle oil. When he received the plate it looked like rice in a broth. My husband sent it back to have it dry out a little more, however it came back looking the same. The waiter explained that it was the chef's interpretation of the dish. Maybe the chef should go back for more cooking lessons.

I have been to Olives for dinner three times because one of my traveling partners has enjoyed it very much in the past - apparently, the 1st time she went she had a fabulous meal - which they have since removed from the menu.
My food has been at best OK every time I have been there. The service has gotten worse with each visit, last year our waiter was inattentive and downright condescending. I go to Vegas every spring with girlfriends, there are four of us and for the last three years I've had to endure Olives, but not this year, even the one holdout has had enough. Perhaps the waiter was so bad because he didn't like waiting on women, too bad he didn't know that two of us were former bartenders and for good service our minimum tip is 30 percent - oh well, I'll take my business elsewhere!!

I won't comment on cost, it's Vegas. Our lunch was well served and overall decent. Not great, barely good. I had the "Cubano" sandwich, which was way OVERPOWERED by what seemed to be McDonalds pickles!!! I'll admit to having never visited Cuba, but I don't believe cheap, mass-produced, pickles are part of the ethnic fare. The meal for me was ruined by "pickle picking" to make the sandwich edible. Also, the spicy dipping sauce provided for the sandwich also seemed to me to be strangely Mcdonaldish??? My wife's salad was very fresh and well seasoned. Best part of the meal was people watching.
