We first found Prime in 2001 and return annually! To date it is our favorite restaurant in the world!! We have never been disappointed! Obviously you pay for the great food, service and atmosphere but we would tell you it is worth every penny! (We paid $300 for 3 courses and 4 drinks, plus tip.) From the appetizers to the steaks we had, all the way to the dessert, it was deliscious and perfect! Make reservations early, it can be very difficult to get into, as they book up well in the advance. Bon Appitete!

We dined at Prime on a Saturday night. Had 6pm reservations and were seated upon arrival at 5:55pm. Had one of the best seats in the restaurant--right by the window so we could view the fountain show. The decor is elegant. We were asked if we were seeing a show and if so, they would hurry along the dinner. We regret saying we didn't. Every course was served on the half hour. A bit too long when everyone else (wisely) around us told the staff they had to get out, so their meals arrived with a nice flow. Side note---why have 'dress codes' when people were in casual jeans and half of the men didn't have jackets? Either it's a fancy place or it isn't. Frankly for the quality of the meal, business casual ought to be the dress code.
The view and the decor won't be enough to bring us back for a return visit. I had the crabcake appetizer--not enough crab meat chunks for my taste. Husband had the split pea soup--said it was good, not great. Both had ceasar salads and barely touched them. Someone must have decided to add lemon or some other tart flavoring to the dressing and ruined it. I had the ceasar salad from room service and in the cafe and both of them were better. On to the entrees...I had filet mignon, ordered it medium well, it arrived medium but I could handle it. The 3 sauces that accompanied the meat were very average in flavor. Husband had the NY strip(hope that's the right name) and it too came out not cooked as ordered but the real problem was it had little to no flavor AND it had fat along the edges that had to be cut off. The vegetables that accompanied the meals were very bland and not worth eating. We shared onion rings(unbelievably greasy), the gratin potatoes(good) and the truffle mash(just not to our liking but that's not their fault although it's apparently the top draw). No white zinfadel available so the waiter suggested another type of wine and while the name escapes me, it was good.
Desserts...I had the warm choc cake w/vanilla ice cream--good. Husband had the banana desert w/ice cream and found it below average in taste. So overall, ambiance scored top billing, the waitstaff got a middle grade but the food was below average. We knew it'd be expensive so I can't gripe about the price. I will say that for a high price, the food should be of high quality and it wasn't at least on the night we visited.

One of the better meals I have had in Vegas. Both wife and I had steak. Cooked perfectly. Side sauces were excellent. Great Service. Great View (make sure you request a view of the fountains). Wife drank wine. I had beer. Total bill for two was about $400.

Why pay this much for average food and service? When I pay top dollar, I expect great food and service. You will get neither here.

This was our 3rd time eating @ Prime. We came back because the first two times were excellent. Unfortunately "3 times was not the charm"- We received a very nice table with a great view of the water show, but just about everything else went wrong. Very slow service, in fact so slow that ultimately they brought us "one prawn to eat"- but even after that the delivery of food was still exceptionally slow. Then when the food came, it wasn't cooked properly and had to be re-done and even there the steak was tough and seemed like something you would get at a lower end hamburger restaurant and maybe not that good. The waiter went beyond suggesting items to being borderline agressive with his suggestions to where we felt compelled to order something that I regretted ordering. There is a balance with waiter suggestions and he went far over the line.
Will we come back? Probably, we will give it one more chance because our 1st two experiences were so much better, but if something similar happened again that would be our last visit to Prime. At the prices being charged, the experience must be far beyond what we received. Even though there were apologies for the delayed delivery the restaurant should have stepped up with more comps, had the mgr come by and talk to us or do something more than a complimentary prawn!
I wish I could say it was better, but I can't!

We have dined in many outstanding rooms in the United States. Prime certainly ranks at the top of the list. Service by the "serving team" was excellent. The overall atmosphere really couldn't be any better.

Dinner at Prime was terrific. The service was great and the filet was one of the best I have ever had.
They also provide a great range of sauces for the entree. The atmosphere is very well done, intimate
and romantic. I was disappointed to receive a table only somewhat close to the window instead of at
the window considering I made the request 6 months in advance and called to confirm it the day
before. Otherwise, great meal.

First things first...GET OVER THE PRICE TAG!!!!!! It's Vegas, it's the Bellagio! All menus in Vegas are displayed outside of the restaurant. If you can't afford it, don't go in!
Now, with that said, I'll review the restaurant.
Prime is visually pleasing. The decor is soft and dark. Immediately one gets the feeling that he is in a serious steakhouse. One of the prior reviews commented on the 3 servers per table. In better restaurants, especially those with a serious wine list, you will have a waiter, an assistant and a "captain" for your table. None of the 3 waiting on my table were snotty at all. If anything, one or 2 of them became too "familiar".
I can tell you that for a midwesterner who does have international dining experience, finding a steak that is acceptable by my standards outside of the midwest is difficult, to say the least. Prime has done it. Both my steak and that of my wife were done perfectly to temperature and arrived grill hot. Our sides were flavorful and all were served in the proper way. Our wine was perfectly chilled and we chose from a very comprehensive list. The sommelier was also very on top of his game. Even the coffee was superb.
Yes, you'll drop some green, but you'll lose more at the tables in 5 minutes if you're a true Bellagio player.

One of the best meals I have ever had, my wife said it was the best steak she has ever had. The
service was perfect as was the food and everything else. The only negative is it was a little pricy
but a nice romantic place for dinner.

I don't understand what everyones problem is with this place. Maybe we were there on an outstanding night. We waited zero minutes for out table. We waited zero minutes to be waited on. Our waitstaff was almost too attentive (maybe I'm just a redneck but I'm not used to someone laying my napkin on my lap). The food was very good. Not a value, mind you, b/c no chicken is worth $22, and no side of braised carrots is worth $7, but very tasty. The best salad I have ever had. Rob and Kerri's prime rib was a little too underdone for my taste, but the overall experience was so good, I dont mind the $10-12 drinks. My new favorite "ritzy" place to eat in LV.
