Charlie Palmer Steak - For Dinner

I've dined in many of the best steakhouses in the country, this isn't one of them. I know what to expect in a high end steakhouse, and this one didn't even come close to meeting expectations.

I was amazed on two levels. First off, I was amazed that such an excellent cut of meat could be prepared in such a manner as to have NO flavor what so ever. What did they do? Boil it? I seriously considered asking for A-1. Second, and perhaps more amazing is in a restaurant of this calibre that every part of the meal was just as bad.

Service wasn't bad, just indifferent. It should've become obvious very early on by facial expressions and food not being eaten that we were not happy campers. We had to speak up and complain....which resulted in a free dessert, which also sucked.

I've had much better steak off the buffet at Golden Corral.

Very expensive and not worth it. Nice room, good service but the food was not up to the challenge. Neither steak was cooked as requested. I sent mine back, my wife suffered through her's. The 4 cheese scalloped potatoes were terrible. Now I know why Grandma only used chedder. The salad was a head of lettuse cut in half with dressing drzzled on top. I guess this is cute and trendy - but not very appetizing or easy to eat. The other side orders were okay, but nothing special. We have eaten at virtually every nice steakhouse on the strip. Some were better than others - all were better then this.

Save your money and have a better meal next door at The Luxor Steakhouse.

This was the faciest restaurant I have ever been in. I took my 17 year old son and he said he wanted to be rich enough to eat here all the time. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding.

Say hello to a hunk of marble. Thats what we did early this year at Charlie Palmers. Youd think a snooty resturant in the Four Seasons would be incredible. Incredible was correct.... incredibly poor food and incredibly snooty waiters with incredibly slow service.

You think Im kidding? Imagine if you will a beautiful expensive piece of meat cooked to be VOID of any flavor. I guess thats what it means when you order a filet cooked European style.

As best as I can tell they put it in a big pot of boiling water and cooked it until every bit of taste was gone.

It gets worse. The sides were ala carte and ala crap. The best side order was this paper cone rolled up filled with french fries.

It gets ever worse.... the resturant wasnt incredibly busy but the snooty waiters were too busy to refill drink or attend to our table of 3. Which was the last straw.

Richard Bush explained it to one of the waiters and to make up for the meal they rbough a selection of deserts. Youd think that would be a smash.
Wrong

I was treated with the homemade sorbet. Awful. I think one of the guys got a a chocolate layer cake which was the hit of the evening. So if your looking for a high end resturant to eat at I plan on Commanders Palace this year.

In retrospect would should have had dinner at the PepperMill instead of just the milkshakes.

Save your money and your dignity. Go somewhere else.

Had dinner here on a Wed night- very impressive meal! It’s tucked away in the hidden Four Seasons Hotel, and is free of the loud casinos. I love the bread that restaurants serve before meals, and Charlie Palmer has the best free bread I’ve ever had. They give you 4 different types (including excellent cornbread) and warm butter. Wow! For an appetizer, I had a mozzarella tomato salad, which had a beautiful presentation and was very good. I had the filet with roasted au jus for dinner, and that was excellent. My side dish was the potatatos au gratin- decent but nothing spectacular. Overall I would say I liked it better than Delmonico at the Venetian. Definitely check this place out! Total bill for me with one glass of wine was $60 before tip.
