I was surprised to be so impressed with a "mexican" restaurant. I walked in expecting buritos w/ beans & rice and at first viewing the menu I thought I was going to be super disappointed 1) by not finding any of that on the menu and 2) the pricing was a lot higher than buritos beans& rice would be. But the waitor was amazing, suggesting a pork dish marinated in cinimon with fried plantains that was TO DIE FOR!! I've never eaten anything like it- or as delish for that matter. Totally worth the price! Thank you Border Grill for an amazing experience.

I had requested a garden view table which proved to be a big mistake on this bitterly cold evening. There was a noticeable draft that made us feel uncomfortable throughout the meal. Where were those two Hot Tamales when we needed them? We started off the meal with complimentary hot taco chips and a trio of salsas – tomatillo, chipotle and some type of fruit. We both ordered the evening’s special – Hawaiian sea bass which I believe is Hapu`upu`u or, as it is more commonly known, grouper. It was served with pan seared shrimp in chipotle sauce over Chinese broccoli and chili lime buttered boniato (white) yams. Like Bette Middler, everything was Divine.

Very good. Excellent ceviche. Very good service even on a Friday night. Enjoyed the prawn special and the margaritas.

This is by far the worst Mexican/Southwestern/Texmex restaurant we have ever eaten at. The service is very poor. The atmosphere cold. The food was horrible. Every dish we ordered was bland, cold, and poorly prepared. A big waste of money and time.

I've actually stayed away from this place lately because of all the bad reviews I've seen on this
website, but now that I've been there, it's really a headscratcher to my as to why it has received
such poor ratings. The food was very very good, all three salsas served with the nachos were
excellent, service was ok (but not great), atmosphere is very modern and trendy Hispanic (not
everyone's taste, but I liked it), and the drinks were quite good, although admittedly VERY
expensive. I ordered the Tecate Carnitas, which were perfectly marinated and came with some very
tasty (if mild) guacemole and the biggest tortilla I have ever seen ( think large-pizza sized). Worth
the visit, and I'll be back.

Lunch was so bad we left our food.
The service was also very bad.
We waited 45 min. for our lunch and then only
got the food after we said we were leaving.
Our mistake was letting them give us the food
because it was so bad we couldn't eat it but then
had to pay the high bill.

Had a great time and a great meal. Very spicy dishes, great appetizers and friendly service, with a nice view of the Mandalay Bay beach.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great meal at a good price.

Enjoyed our meal here very much -- the three salsas they serve with the chips were all different and excellent (though the hot really wasn't very hot). Mild had a nice tomato-ey flavor, medium was a tomatillo salsa, and the hot had a nice smoked undertone. Our group ordered a variety of smaller items since it was late and everyone was very satisfied with their order. The margaritas *were* small, as someone else stated. Besides that, I would like to go when it is warmer out so I could sit by the lazy river area.

I had lunch here. The place is upscale and unique Mexican food- even many of the lunch entrees are $16. They bring out chips with 3 kinds of salsa, which are good. I ordered the tamales- they were different but pretty good. With certain entrees, they serve sweet grinded corn stuffed in corn stalks. Wow! Those things were fantastic- I’ve never seen or tasted anything like that before. Come here if you want to try something other than standard Mexican tacos and burritos.

Worst Mexican food we ever had. We both left our plates with the food on it. My husband had the fish tacos--cold fish and very fishy. My cerviche was awful--slimy and gray fish swimming on the plate. Ick!
Expensive and the waitress never even asked us how things were. Maybe it was too obvious. Never received the lime wedges or salsa.
Stay away.
