Stumbled upon this diner after leaving Binions where we would normally have the NY Strip, but they did not have it on special anymore. Went to end (or beginning) of Fremont street for the first time and went in to see what it was like and there was a line, so that was a good indication it may be worht the wait. After waiting about 20 minutes and seeing empty tables we were told they didn't want to overwhelm the cook with a full house. We were seated shortly after and the waiting was worth it. Prime rib was excellent! Service was fast and friendly. I will keep this place on my to do list for next trip.

great specials. a bargan. come for the food. leave after you eat the slots are real tight. evidently popular with the gay community.
Another visit and well pleased. Prime rib special was excellent.
Went back here because the UpperDeck at the Las Vegas Club was out of business???? Wow thats a bummer. Had some great meals there too.

Stopped by for a quick bowl of soup and boy was it good, homemade for sure. Much later that night I had the bacon and egg special with hash browns and toast. I couldn't eat it all. I love the atmosphere of the diner. Reminds me of when I was a kid many years ago. You gotta stop here and eat especially if you're downtown. I will definately return time and time again.

I stumbled across this restaraunt only because the sandwich deli located in the back had a very long line. This turned out to be a blessing because after our first meal here, my Uncle and I ate here twice more for dinner. I had free meal coupons at the nugget and didn't get to use them. The staff here was very friendly and the food was homestyle cooking. You can't beat the price either. I'm returning to Vegas in July and am looking forward to eating at the Bay City Diner. Anyone needs free meal coupons from the nugget?

Went here for the famous cheap prime rib and cheap shrimp cocktail. The shrimp are bay shrimp (I think), small but delicious. Came in a glass ice cream dish, covered with a nice spicy hot sauce. Loved it. The prime rib dinner at $9.99 was very good. Nice piece of meat, good mashed potatoes and unforunate canned green beans. But the mean in total for the two of us, incluidng one beer and one wine, was less than $30. Service was outstanding. I'd go back again.

My wife and I ate dinner here Apr 4, 06. We had to wait a few minutes for a table, but it was well worth it. Our waiter, Jack, was there in a flash to get our drink orders. I had the Country Fried Steak, and my wife had the Soup and Salad. We were both very happy with the quality and quantity. I wouldn't have felt bad leaving some food on my plate because of the great value, but I didn't because it was just too good. Everything was great. Our server took very good care of us. We really enjoyed the coziness of the Old Hotel Diner. Some would think it's a little crowded but we didn't mind at all. We'll definately be back when we're in town again.

Oh my, what a GREAT restaurant, yes GREAT, the cooks there know how to scramble eggs (a lot of places don't) had a great breakfast, and an even better dinner. I had the Beef Stew for $4.99 including soup, it was the best I have ever eaten outside of my home. Yes I am also a Chef and am very picky, this little coffee shop is great for all the right reasons. Cooks know how to cook, service is good and fast, and prices are right.

We have visited this diner four times and each time the service and food were execellent. You certainly get your moneys worth. I recomend this diner to all of our friends who are coming to Vegas. You may have to wait a few minutes to get a table but there is a reason for that, if the food was lousy there would not be lines to get in.

This is how it all should be with Old Vegas atmosphere and friendly wait staff, but the wait to get a table can be very slow at some times. Worst time is late in the evening as people get into vegas late...

Small little diner on the Main Street side of the Golden Gate. Old Vegas atmosphere and friendly wait staff. Huge portions and very reasonable prices. Line moves pretty slow because there are so few tables. Hard to beat the value.
