Went without a reservation, people in the queue in front were being advised of a 30 minute wait for a non smoking table. However we didn't mind, so we were seated immediately on the terrace. It feels like you are outdoors, so don't actually notice if people are smoking. As we studied the menus the server brought some of the nicest bread I have ever had to dip in the oil and vinegar.
Plenty of choice, the portions are good sizes, and the quality was excellent. We normally struggle to have desert in Vegas due to excessive portion sizes, but we managed to fit in desert and it was wonderful. Try the raspberry bellini cocktail... this was lovely and could very easily get you tipsy.

My g/f and I ate dinner at Canaletto on 05/01. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I was pleasently surprised. We ate on the "terrace" (aka the smoking section). It really seemed like we were sitting outside, plus we could watch the little show that was going on in the middle on the sidewalk, which was interesting. We both had a glass of wine, an appetizer, I ordered seafood pasta, the g/f had some chicken dish. Total bill with tip was $75, which is close to what you would spend at Olive Garden, but the atmosphere is alot better that OG. The waitstaff service was way above average, and our food was ready rather quickly. I had read some bad reviews on here about the food and rude waiters, but I really didn't experience anything close to that. Overall, I would rate the whole meal an 8, and would definately eat here again in the future.    17586

Food was tasty and graciously prepared, but don't expect overly generous portions for your money. The waiter came across as stuffy and indifferent. We did all we could to make him crack a smile. I think I'll go back to Il Fornaio in the NY-NY.    15065

We sat inside and were pleasantly surprised at how elegant and lovely the restaurant is. The service was outstanding. My husband and I each had the veal with vegetables and shared a side of pasta. We would have licked the plates if we could. The food was really wonderful. This restaurant is on top of my list for when we return to Vegas!    13619

When I come to Vegas I usually make a stop at this place. My friend always orders something different and the food is always consistently wonderful. I on the other hand always order the same thing. I can never remember what it is called but it is a fire grilled lobster served with pasta in a cognac creme sauce. There is lobster meat mixed in with the pasta and sauce. This dish is to die for!!! The atmosphere is nice because you have a view of the grand canal and the shoppes etc. There is often singing in the square and you can often hear it, just lovely....it can be noisy when busy however so keep that in mind. The food, service and view are great. This is an excellent place and highly recommended.    14170

I really, really enjoyed eating here. The food was great and the waiter was pretty attentive even though it did take a while to get our food. We were in a party of four and all of us thought the food was tasty and the prices were all right too for the yummy food they dished out.
