- Bad Meal
We went here on January 27th, 2008
We went here after reading about it on the internet with hopes of a great meal. The waitress seemed friendly at first then got a large table and basically ignored us, I am sure with the hope of a large tip. My husband ordered the steak and lobster. The steak was overcooked and the stuffed lobster was not only small but tough and tasteless with the stuffing inedible. I had some sort of fish which was just ok. but for a check of over$200.00 it was definitley not worth the cost.

- Good Meal
I came here to try the Dim Sum. I grew up in LA but now live in Central Florida. The Dim Sum is the best in Los Angeles but in Orlando it is terrible. So I decided to try the Dim Sum at Royal Star. I would say the quality is slightly less than LA chinatown but much better than Orlando. Prices not bad at about $50 for two people. The only complaint was that they don't open up for breakfast and they don't use the Hong Kong style carts at least not on the day I was there.

We stayed at the Venetian on our last visit and I was excited to try out their dim sum. Unfortunately the dim sum didn't have much flavor, and the service was slow. I'm sure some of the regular menu items are much better tasting, but we didn't have a chance to try any.

- Good Meal
We returned to the Royal Star to try their dim sum and once again the whole experience was outstanding. Yes, it is "plain" on decoration but that's part of the appeal. It is very relaxing. If you like well prepared Chinese food give this place a try. My wife and I both agreed it was a perfect meal. Total for 2 with tip was $44.00.

Given the location you would expect more decorations to justify the cost. It was a plain white restaurant with seating and tables no different than your local chinese restaurant. There is no sense of style here. In a town like Vegas you need style. The food is generic chinese. You can do better Venetian
