- Bad Meal
WORST meal in Vegas in 25 years! The food was inedible, waiter didn't care, and management didn't care.
Beans were very dry, Rellano was burned to a crisp, enchiladas were described as having a cream sauce
but instead had a tomato based VERY spicy sauce. I am from Texas and know what spicy food is and don't
mind it. This was awful with a capital "A"!

I love Mexican food! I don't know why anyone would say the food at the Taqueria Canonita is not authentic. I, too, have been to Mexico City as well as several other cities in that country. I found the food here to be delicious and authentic, the service when I was there was excellent, and the manager/part owner, Ana, was the greatest! I got seated right beside the canal and could hear the gondoliers singing close by. Everything was wonderful for me when I visited, and I can't wait to return. I have suggested my daughter her husband eat there next week when they stay at the Venetian. I actually visited in 2004. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

- Bad Meal
One of the most horrible places I have ever eaten. The place was a mess, the server was too busy playing games with the other servers to take care of us, and the food was overpriced for the slop they set in front of us. While trying to catch the eye of our waiter, I had plenty of time to see people rubbing thier noses, scratching themselves, and then taking food out to tables. Just an aweful, aweful experience that I hope never to repeat. I urge you to steer clear of this place!

Ate here Sunday night May 14th after flying in. We had a pitcher of margarita's that was pretty good. I had the marinated pork and it was really good. Very tender. Would definitely eat here again.

I think this restaurant is great. I eat here every time I am in Las Vegas and I have introduced many friends to this wonderful place as well. On my recent visit (3/11/06), the service was great and the manager came over personally and checked on us. I think they have taken the slow service comments to heart. The food and drinks are fabulous and the cilantro rice is to die for! My friend who had lunch with me said she is going through withdrawals and was hoping there is another site other than Las Vegas. I have a conference next month so you know I'll be heading to Taqueria Canonita at least once. You can also make reservations on line which is totally great!!

The food is very creative, and well-prepared. This is not your typical beans and rice taco joint. Expect to be surprised. They also have the best margaritas I've ever had anywhere and I am very picky about my margaritas.

Great "view" overlooking the canal inside the venetian. waiter was great and very flexible. food was pretty good, as it didn't knock us out with flavor. however, for under $20 per entree, in the ventian, on the strip, it's a pretty good value.
oh yeah, their queso appetizer is $7 and is some of the very best queso we've ever had.

Food was excellent, not really authentic but still excellent. We ate here twice and service was a little spotty. Excellent atmosphere. The salad with lime vinegrette was outstanding as was the pork in banana leaf.

If you are going to Taqueria Canonita thinking that it is your typical traditional Mexican food, think again. Their menu has an unexpected yet tasty twist on the Mexican food that you are used to. I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere is great, the service could be improved as everything moves a bit slow, but doesn't everything in Mexico move slow anyway? I frequent this place because of the great food, drinks aren't that bad either. Prices are in line with all other Mexican restaurants in town $11 - $15 per entree. Go there with an open mind and an empty stomach, the servings are enormous. I highly recomend Taqueria Canonita.
