Blue Agave Oyster and Chilé Bar - For Dinner

We have eaten at this restaurant numerous times, but service throughout this meal was substandard starting off when we sat for several minutes before the chef took mercy on us and delivered the menus. The waitress finally arrived and Ms. Westie ordered the crab pan roast while I requested the house special pan roast. Service problems continued when we had to request silverware and napkins from our ditzy server. The chef was again required to rescue us by delivering our meals when he noticed our server was once again MIA. The meals and margaritas (3) were otherwise very good. NOte: we used the LVA's POV 50% off coupon.

Blue Agave Oyster and Chilé Bar - For Lunch

Nice, airy setting. Lots of space. Comfortable. Boullibase was good - lots of crab, shrimp, and mussels. Pan roast was fine, but needed help from a variety of hot/tabasco sauces - not nearly as good as the similar dish at the Palace Station Oyster Bar. I would be giving a report on their gumbo, but the Oyster Bar, which has a limited menu, was out of gumbo. I found this odd.
Server was pleasant, prompt, and willing to offer menu suggestions, but was strangely unable to locate a bar towel to wipe some sticky residue off the bar. Also, this place offers about a zillion margarita variations, but when I received my second "Sangria" margarita, the waitress warned me the bartender "has never made that one before" (apparently the bartenders had a shift change during my brief meal?). The drink was too sweet, but not so bad as to send back. At any rate, it always bugs me when a place touts its variety but can execute.
