If you are going to spend the money for a fine dining experience, I recommend spending it elsewhere. We ate at the restaurant based on the recommendation from a friend, and to see the lake view up close. In the summer however, the patio is closed due to the heat so you have a partial view from inside the restaurant. We were looking for a romantic dinner for two, but the restuarant is loud and the seating placed my husband and I almost too far apart for easy conversation. In addition, the service was terrible, I expect more from my local diner than I got there. The food was average, certainly not worth the price. Every employee who walked by us though, had time to refill our wine glasses, I guess that's where the money is. The wine list was more like notebook, if you're into that. Otherwise, highly overrated.

We had dinner on a Saturday night. The service was very good and very professional. Some might find service a little cold, but I prefer that to a waiter who is too familiar. Had the best onion soup I have ever eaten followed by steak frites, also delicious. Husband had lobster bisque and steak au poivre and enjoyed both. Desserts were wonderful. Chocolate souffle was amazing but only for a true chocolate lover. Chocolate profiteroles were delicious and a better choice for husband who isn't such a chocolate eater. Sommelier helped find a good wine that wasn't terribly expensive. Good view of the fountain outside and the "show" (?) that takes place there. Not sure what we were looking at, but it was interesting. Good meal. Expensive but worth it when splurging on vacation.

I tried to get a reservation at the SW Steakhouse, but they were all booked
up, so I tried this place. No problem. We had a few drinks at the very cool
bar while they got our table ready. The Bartender was great, and treated
us nice. The restaurant is hip and the service and food were great. We
shared a Caesar salad. Girlfriend had the short ribs. She loved them. I
had the steak au poivre. Cooked perfectly, medium rare. Excellent.
Steve Wynn and his wife came in to have dinner that night while we were
there. We had about seven drinks between us along with dinner the bill
was $200.00 without tip. This is a good restaurant, and we will come
back. Did I mention the cool view of the lake? Beautiful.

The famous DB burger with all those wonderful was somehow cooked in the worst way imaginable. How can you stuff foi gras and spare rib within sirloin and cook together? It is unfortunate, but they obviously premade the patties to make it easier on the chefs. The soufle, tuna and pork chop were good, but the duck, burger, veal cheaks were below average. That chef needs to cook those tasty burger ingredients separately and add at the end. I know he is trying to be easy on his staff, but word gets around SOOO FIX THAT BURGER. lol

The food was just OK, we had the seafood plateau(platter), cheese plate, the sweatbread/veal cheeks, the DB original burger(I had to see what a $30 burger tasted like), and the St. Honore cream puffs(big enough for two, I guess at $16 for a pie, it should be). I was shocked by the service though, very unattentive for a fine dining restaurant. My water ran out and was never refilled even once, my drink ran low but was never asked if I wanted another. I think we were only asked once through out the whole meal, if we needed anything. I read so much about Daniel Baloud and had to taste what the hype was about and was throughly disappointed. Sorry DB.

It feels that it is like the rest of this resort. That it opened too quickly.
Service was very poor with slow service, and staff did not answer the questions we had about the menu
I agree that the chef likes to add "LOTS" of salt to his food.
Overall, i think in a couple of months it could be OK, but i would still eat somewhere else.

The food was good but not great. We started with mussels. The broth was solidly good but not the best we've had. We ordered the braised short ribs and the slow cooked duck with crispy skin. Both were a bit too salty especially the duck. The mashed potatoes and mushrooms under the duck were great. The bread served at the table was terrific. Dessert was the best part of the meal. We ordered the raspberry tart with pistachio cream and crust. It was excellent. I would go there again but it would not be my first choice. It was a little pricy for a meal that was not outstanding but certainly not as pricey as one of the more gourmet restaurants.
