Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab in Caesars Palace - For Dinner

Month Visited: 04/11 - Bad Meal

We went to Joe’s with an extremely large group. We had some drinks at the bar and each of us was charge a gratuity of 18% on our tab. After our bar drinks, we received no service from the waitress on beverages.

We ordered all of the sides, soups and salads on the menu and especially lots of snow crab. We heard great things about the restaurant and unfortunately our experience did not match other’s experiences. The snow crab was significantly smaller than Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, where we ate the previous night. We recommend Del Frisco. The snow crab seemed to have been frozen for a very long time; it was fishy, grainy, and not well cooked. The frozen taste was strong throughout our entire order of crabs. It was so far from fresh and tasted terrible. Even the horseradish sauce could not hide the low quality taste.

The artichoke and crab dip appetizer was excellent.

The Manhattan chowder soup was tomato based, salty, and TONS of DIRT grains. It was difficult to consume with every taste full of grains. This was the worst soup on the menu. The crab bisque was great.

The plain potato hash browns were good. They are boiled potatoes that are placed in a baking dish and toasted on the top. Not great but good. The Lyonnaise however, was not pleasant. It was overfilled with caramelized onions, which were so overpowering you could not taste the potato.

The cole slaw had an interesting unique tangy taste. The texture of the cole slaw seemed prepackaged, over shredded, soggy consistency, and poor preparation. Again, the taste was very unique. Our group ate the least of this item. The corn was not sweet; it had several bell peppers and way too much seasoning. The spinach had too much cream. The other sides were all very standard.

The key lime pie had a nice strong, sour, and thick creamy filling. The gram cracker crust was over sugared and too thick.

Worst of all, after such a disappointing dinner, our waitress made the mistake of charging our group the entire tab multiple times. Several of us were charged the entire bill. We brought this to the manager’s attention and he had no idea as to how to handle the situation. We had to break it down to the waitress and explain to her the billing error. She had a difficult time understanding how to correct and reverse the charges. We’re still waiting on verification from our banks of the reversals, since the restaurant clearly cannot be relied on.

Overall we would not recommend this restaurant. Perhaps, at one time the Vegas location was of comparable quality to their other chains, but unfortunately this is no longer true.

WORST SERVICE EVER! My husband, our friend, and myself went there for dinner recently. Between the 3 of us, we dropped over $400 on dinner and were treated HORRIBLY! I have gotten WAY better service at hole-in-the-wall restaurants than the service we received at this "nice" restaurant. To go into detail about the service would take forever, so I'll just tell you the icing on the cake. When we received our bill, my husband was gracious enough to leave a tip. The waiter sure as hell didn't deserve one, but we left him one anyways...big mistake. The waiter then had the audacity to come over to my husband and tell him that the tip was not enough!!! No...I'm NOT kidding! He actually did that. We were all livid, so my friend goes to talk to the manager...he was no better than the waiter! "WOW!", is all I can say. How this restaurant is still open is beyond me...Maybe they actually have better staff members hiding in back somewhere. All I know is that we have a LARGE group of friends and family members that frequent Vegas MANY times a year, and I'll make sure that each and every one of them knows about this place.

Off the hook (no pun intended). Great meal and the "view" from the outside dining area in the Forum Shops is amazing: Beautiful women. Seasoning on steak was tops and this is not an inexpensive place but well worth the money.

Second time eating there. Both times were excellent. Had the scallops and husband had the steak. Everything was superb. We will definitely go there again.

From the time we walked into Joe's, the staff was great. The food was excellent, just be ready for a premium price. Started with the stone crab claws, where our party raved about the mustard sauce. Some had the stone crab bisque, I had the "Half" caesar salad (half is all you need for a dinner salad). Everyone agreed the entrees were all very good. And be sure to order a few sides, just be aware there's enough for 2-3 people for each order. Unfortunately, we didn't leave room for dessert.

Another outstanding evening at Joes. Thomas Johnson and the wait staff were excellent as well as each of the entrees and crab claw appetizers. This restaurant ranks with the best in Las Vegas.

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab in Caesars - For Dinner

Month Visited: 04/06 - Bad Meal

Friends of ours were visiting Las Vegas for the first time. Since my husband and I have been visiting Las Vegas for the last 15 years, I wanted my friends to experience restaurants which we had previously eaten at and enjoyed. What a big mistake when I chose Joe's as one of them. First we got the waiter with the attitude and very snobbish. There was no warmth in his mannerism and he spoke for the sake of speaking. He was there because he needed a job, not because the enjoyed it. 3 out 4 of us ordered crab and the 4th had the pork chops. The one that chose the pork chops was fine and he actually enjoyed the meal. His wife had the filet of sole with crab stuffing. She ate 1/2 of one of the rolls. It was soggy and more or less cooked. When she told the waiter, his reply was that she should have asked him before ordering. Is cooked food an option at that restaurant? Needless to tell you, she had stomach craps in the middle of the night. I ordered crab bisque as an appetizer and the petit filet mignon with Lyonnais potatoes. The bisque and filet mignon were great; however the potatoes were swimming in oil. Again the waiter told me that is how the potatoes are cooked. Does your restaurant want to be associated with greasy food like the corner diner? I had the runs all evening long. Finally, my husband ordered the stone crabs as an appetizer. Since my husband suffers with colitis, he was affected the most. Totally out of commission for 2 days. Surely, you must have realized the common denominator; the stone crab was not fresh. The cherry on the sundae was when we asked for separate bills; well the waiter really let us know that he was not pleased that we did not tell him when we sat down. We then proceeded to ask for the manager, who was very apologetic. However, 1/2 hour later our male friend was in one of the bathrooms in the forum shops next to the manager (were we followed). I'm sure I saw bathrooms in the restaurant, I know I did since I used them. The manager proceeded to release a major amount of gas in the direction of our friend. Classy don't you think. My question is as follows; "Does a well respected organization tolerate this type of behavior from their staff?” I can honestly say that we were totally turned off by the food, restaurant and the staff.
