I've recently visited this establishment for dinner with several friends. Sadly it was my idea to come here, as Mike and Smitty were staying in the Imperial Palace. I figured it would be an easy buffet to hit up and had high hopes for it's cuisine, assuming it would serve some type of asian food, boy was I wrong. Everything was terrible. It was all bland, overcooked, ooold, or in most cases all three. Thank the lord that you were in charge of your own refills or I imagine you wouldn't be seeing many of those as well. I imagine I will be hated upon for taking everyone there.
STAY AWAY FROM THE EMPORER's BUFFET. He has no taste.

I stay at IP whenever I go to Vegas. I have never eaten dinner at the Emperor's Buffet, but have had many breakfasts there. Obviously, it's more convenient to eat breakfast close to your room. And, how hard is it to screw up breakfast? It wasn't bad. I certainly wouldn't call it anything close to "gourmet", but, heck, I don't think I've ever had to actually pay for it (got comped, etc). Other parts of the country may not have the "buffet-style" restaurants, like Furr's, Golden Corral and others, but I would say the food is no worse than, and, in many cases, much better than these types of restaurants. Bottom line, good deal, nothing to write home about, but, as my main goal is to eat quickly and hit the casino or other sights, my stomach really doesn't care if it's Imperial Palace or Bellagio. For dinner, I suggest trying one of IP's 5th floor restaurants. Very nice.

The food was great for breakfast. i had one of the best omelets I've ever eaten. I wouldn't dare go there for dinner after all the horror stories I've heard, but breakfast was good. No tip was left, as our plates were never cleared, and you have to get your own drink.

It's not as bad as some are making it out to be. No, it's nothing special but the food is decent and certainly better than a Furr's or Golden Corral. It's an older buffet in and older casino. Take advantage of it if you get the 2 for 1 coupons or a free buffet. I really enjoyed the pork ribs.

Thank God we didn't have to pay for this one. There wasn't a good main dish in the place. The turkey was dry, the beef tough, and the roast beef that was personally sliced didn't spend enough days in the tenderizer. The ice cream was Ok though. Even for free, it's a tough choice.

You can't go wrong here when it's free. There's enough choices for everyone to find something they like. I've been for breakfast and lunch.
Would I go if I had to pay? Probably not.

We had free coupons for the Emperor's Buffet-not the Imperial Buffet. This was the worst buffet I have had in Vegas in 10 years. I thought things might be bad when I saw the few busboys loading the dirty dishes from empty tables onto tables in the eating area so they were stacked a foot high-this did not lend to a very appealing sight as one of the stacked up tables was next to us. The sausage links were half burnt on the outside & seemed to be very rare on the inside. Bacon trays were mostly left empty-I asked a cook if some was coming out & was told it would be quite awhile-he was right. The diced potato concoction was odd-it was sprinkled with sugar or a sugar substitute of some kind. Watched a server wipe off the spilled food around the steam table-some went in his hand & some back into the pans. As we never had a server come to our table there was no tip left-plates just pilled up. Judging by the table next to us most people were leaving the majority of their food on the plates-again this was really visually appealing. The hotel has great rates & an enjoyable casino but
