I've been about 10-11 times in LV. This is the first time I had a breakfast at the CRAVING BUFFET in THE MIRAGE. Listen dudes - this is the place to beat! (and to eat...). The selection - huge, taste - delicious, room - spacey, service - pleasant, price - reasonable (much cheaper, though, compared to worse buffets).
I can definitely say that if the chef doesn't change or goes nuts for some reasons - If you want to experience differnt buffets - go ahead but if you want to enjoy a very good breakfast buffet - this is THE place!!

I have been a culinary critic for 22 years and I have reviewed many fine dinning restaurants and buffets around the world, from Asia, Europe and North America. I will consider Cravings Buffet at the Mirage Hotel and Casino one of the best buffets in North America. The service was exceptional, good food variety and great atmosphere. When we visited Cravings buffet we felt as if we were eating at a gourmet restaurant, we had an extraordinary experience. I will recommend this Buffet to people that wants to experience good food, good service, good atmosphere.

We ate dinner here on Sept 21. The food stations were spread out around the restaurant and gave the illusion of lots of food selection. The roast chicken and ribs were dry and tasteless. The king crab legs were limp and soggy. The skinnier pieces had no meat in them. Mashed potatoes, broccoli and green bean vegetable selection don't justify the dinner price. At the salad station, you had to wait/lineup for the 'chef' to toss it for you. The dessert station was unimpressive - Harrah's level. The sliced fruit was displayed such that you had to reach way down to scoop it. We saw one short lady stick her head under the glass cover of the fruit station to reach for the scoops - YUK! Some of the serving scoops had fallen into the sliced fruit pans. The service was excellent. The server was very attentive and available. If you want an overpriced basic meal with some asian dishes you should come here, otherwise pay more and go to Spice Market or Bellagio.

I thought that it could not get any worse than the buffet at Mandalay Bay, but Cravings managed to top it as the WORST buffet I have ever eaten at! First off, my party and I went there for breakfast on a Tuesday, which should mean a minimal wait. We waited for well over an hour to be seated, while there was clealy plenty of seating available. Second, the amount of food selections were minimal; the food itself was cold, undercooked, or just plain lousy. Third, the staff was, by far, the most unfriendly buffet staff that I have ever delt with. It took forever to get out drinks and the staff behind the buffet stations were EXTREMELY rude.
For a buffet that has the repuatation as Cravings, it was a HUGE letdown and those who highly reccomend it should be flogged for doing so! Again, this was the WORST buffet I have ever eaten at anywhere and everyone should avoid Cravings at The Mirage at all costs!

This is the second time that we ate here. I have to say it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. We ate here the first time 2 years ago for T-giving, and it hasn't changed. The crab legs are huge, and the variety of food is outstanding. Again, a little pricey...$48+ change for 2 of us, but it is worth every penny of it. Will eat here every time.
