I ate at Todai for the lunch buffet and was very pleased. Most of the food was very fresh and the selection was very nice. The food was nicely potioned and presented.

Excited about eating here, as we love Sushi and fresh seafood. Got there at 5:30 p.m. as they were opening the doors so food should have been freshest. Seaweed rap on all sushi was very tough and hard to chew. Osyters great and desserts outstanding, but felt the overall cost compared to fresheness should have been to a higher standard. Nice place and frendly staff. Not the best I have eatten and not the worst either. Better than Le Village Buffet by far, but not the Spice Market either. Good Luck and hope the seaweed was just a bad batch and you will enjoy.

Todai Sushi & Seafood Buffet - For Lunch

We ate lunch here in August of 2006 and loved it so much, I can't wait to go back! Everything at Todai was very fresh. It had to be, because people were devouring the sushi as fast as the chefs behind the counter could make it! Much of the clientele was Japanese, which is always encouraging.

In addition to a huge variety of sushi, some sashimi, shrimp, and a number of seafood salads, they also had cooked teriyaki, tempura, and Chinese-style stirfried dishes, miso and other soups, and a chef making made-to-order noodle dishes. The baked mussels were the best I’ve ever had. At dinner, they also offer crab legs. There were also at least fifteen different desserts, in tiny portions so you could try several. Many of them were Japanese-inspired desserts (e.g., red bean pudding), but Americanized with a little extra sugar.

I have eaten at some fine sushi restaurants where the sushi is made individually to order, but those places tend to be high priced. It was a treat to be able to eat all the sushi I wanted, and try types I hadn't had before, without thinking about the cost. For example, I tried unagi (grilled eel) for the first time, and it was great.

We had a coupon for 10% off from the Desert Passage discount booklet, which they will mail to you if you sign up on their website, but the better deal turned out to be at $5 off coupon from What’s On magazine, available from racks in the Desert Passage mall. The bill for two, with iced teas and tip, was $37.03.

My dad loves sushi, but as we all know sushi is about the most expensive fish on the whole planet, so everytime we go to vegas, we eat here, for cheap! I HATE sushi, but this place has lots of good oriental dishes for us 'sushi intollerent' people. The dessert bar is awesome, it has a crepe maker, and lotes of yummy cakes. There's always fresh fruit, overall very tasty!

We enjoyed this meal. We don't have access to sushi very often at home, and when we do it is very pricy, so it was great to try so many different things. The sushi and sashimi were very good. We didn't eat any dessert or seafood other than listed above. There isn't much ambiance to the place, but the food was very good. I have been to vancouver, and this wasn't as good as the sushi we got there, but if you live in a place where sushi is not very accessible or is very expensive, then this would be a great place for a treat!

The service was awfull. The sushi was not cold enough. The only thing I did like was the desert. I would not reccomend this buffet to even hardcore sushi fans!....

The buffet was extremely busy when we were there on a Sat night. The waitstaff seems to do their own bussing which really slows down the service for drinks etc. Also they, like most buffets, boil their lobster tails and that really removes the flavor. I asked about broiling, and was told that because of the volume, they can't take the time to broil, which is too bad. Overall it's not a bad deal.

pricey on wkend, it's about US $26 / person..
all the sashimi are not fresh and icey; especially uni.. they look brownish color and smell aweful;
they said that they will have lobster, we couldn't find any, just only baked half tiger prawns with garlic sauce;
drinks are not included; dessert are tasteless;
prawn tempura's batter are too thick and over cook;
even cooked seafood are not fresh, we got stomache afterward;
I heard alot of people said that it's best japanese buffet in vegas... OMG
any japanese all u can eat buffet in vancouver way better than them ..

we won't go there again..

I love this buffet. I've been there 3 times and each time the food was fresh and the restaurant was clean. They have a nice variety of all kinds of Japanese food, not only sushi. They have fresh udon and ramen soups, fresh stir fry with your choice of meat or seafood, plenty of a variety of hot foods. The sushi and sashimi fish was very fresh. Unlike other buffets where the fish looks like it's been left out too long.
