The selection at this buffet was very especially at the dessert section because you can choose items from a sugar free section which is good for thise who like sugar free desserts. The best thing about this buffet is that the price for every meal is very affordable for those who afre on tight budgets or want a cheap but good buffet.

I tried this buffet twice in the last week. The first visit was disastrous, but I returned for the Monday night Steak Night and was very surprised. Go on steak night. I think they have a different chef that day!

This is an average, simple American buffet that will appeal to picky types. There is a very good salad bar with all sorts of fresh ingredients and pasta / tuna salads. There is a large seafood area with peel and eat shrimp and very freezer burned fried seafood (shrimp, scallops and the like). The Mexican station has very good bean burritos but no tacos.

STAY AWAY from the made to order Mongolian grill. If you get this, leave out the meat! The meat is very, very poor and low quality. It is good if you only add vegetables. TRUST ME. The steak on steak night was actually very tender and very good! Desserts are abysmal, but the sugar free carrot cake is a real hit.

This buffet was very dirty too, and the clientele left a lot to be desired.

On a previous trip I had earned several free dinner buffets so we decided to use two of them for the Wednesday night seafood buffet. The highlight was the fried shrimp, a dish under normal circumstances I wouldn’t even consider eating plus a pretty decent fruit tart. Less successful were the unpeeled shrimp (small & soft), turkey (dry), Chinese BBQ ribs (dry), chow fun (no fun), clams oreganata (dry), breaded oysters (dry), snow crab (small and icy), bread pudding (dry) and salad (blah blue cheese dressing). Several soups had congealed and everything at the Italian and Mexican stations looked disgusting. Hands down this was the worst seafood buffet I have ever experienced – shame on you Michael Gaughan.

This is our second trip to the South Coast. We have eaten at Coronado Café, Baja Miguel's, and Big Sur Oyster Bar – all good so we thought the buffet might be nice. Got up early on Wednesday morning and felt like a good breakfast buffet to get a start on the day. It was fantastic and a great value at $6.45! But our Fun book included a 2-for-1 coupon so it was a steal. The oatmeal was perfect and the fruit was very fresh. They made an egg white omelet with real eggs. Nice potatoes, bacon, etc. Coffee was hot and the service was excellent. Next time we will try the Wednesday Seafood Night :-)

Same menu as The Orleans, Gold Coast and Suncoast. Large selection of choices, perhaps too large. A slimmed down menu might allow them to pay more attention to individual items, some of which are a bit dried out and not as tasty as they should be. Biggest negative is that the items aren't kept hot enough, some getting cold on my plate before I finished them. The breakfast buffet at the nearby Silverton has a smaller selection but the food is better - read that tastes better. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good buffet but there's room for improvement.

Service is good and my coffee cup is always kept full, unlike the coffee shop where the service is inconsistant.

The buffet at the new South Coast casino is good, not great. It has six different areas (Asian, Mexican, Seafood, BBQ, Italian, and Dessert) with people cooking the food right in front of you. The seafood was disappointing: no crabs legs, no fried shrimp, and the shrimp cocktail was peal and eat (too much work). The prime rib and roast turkey were good, and the chinese food was probably the best thing there. It had a good overall selection, but nothing was great and it is not as good as the new Seasons buffet at the Silverton. The upside is that it's cheap and you can get comps and 2 for 1 coupons pretty easily.

First let me say that my family of four, myself included, ate for free using our comp points and the special of the weekend aboutr double points. Anyways, the food was just okay, there wasn't much of a selection. Nothing really stood out. When I asked my wife about it her response was also blase. Usually my kids will eat their fair share of food but I found them eating only dessert. The service was good, someone was always there removing our empty plates. But all in all, you just can't pass up a free meal.
