Overall a good meal. My wife and I had the guacamole appetizer, which was good, but we put a little too much lime in it. The Chips and three salsas were very good, but not real spicy. We both had cheese enchiladas and enjoyed them, but they were not the best we have ever had. The rice and beans were both good. The service was very good. We had reservations on a Saturday night and did not have to wait. The resturant was very busy.    20330

Has dinner at the bar inside Isla one evening. I started out with a Don Julio margarita. It was as good as any I had on this trip, and the price about what I expected. Contrary to one person's comment, I found the chips and salsa to be pretty good. There were three kinds of salsa. All of them were quite different, but all enjoyable. For an appetizer, I had the shrimp and pepper saviche(not sure if I am spelling it right). It was very flavorful, and had an ample ammount of shrimp. For my dinner, I had the carne asada tacos. The beef was good, but not as flavorful as some I have had. The tacos came with a side of black beans, and a side of rice. The beans were very good, but the rice was pretty average. During my meal, I had a mojito that was top notch. Overall I enjoyed Isla, and I would eat there again.    19329

I wanted to try Isla at TI; I had read about it on their web site and was interested in their tequila bar as well as a good Mexican meal. I called over to see if we needed reservations, they said come on over, there was immediate seating available. It was a short walk from IP so we decided not to drive (notice a recurring theme here?). We did get seated immediately and ordered a couple of margaritas. S and I love a good margarita and they did not disappoint. They have a Tequila Goddess that will come to your table and answer any questions you have or make recommendations about their huge selection of tequila. We each had two of their Cadillac Margaritas, one with Corazón Añejo and the other with Herradura Añejo tequila. Halfway through the second one, S asked me if it was getting warm in there and we agreed the margaritas were giving us a nice buzz. The meal was equally as good; I had a carne asasda burrito and S had chicken enchiladas. We also ordered their fresh guacamole to eat with the chips they bring you. The best part of the meal was the waiter. I forget his name, but he provided outstanding service throughout the entire meal. I highly recommend Isla if you’re looking for a reasonably priced Mexican dinner, excellent margaritas and great service. Total bill was $110, with a generous tip.    18997

Nice design, table was a little cramped for two. Prices were reasonable considering location. Dinner started with complimentary chips and three different salsas. I had the Taco - the steak filling was tasty but I don't know what the shells were made from. My husband had the enchiladas and loved them. Wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Isla. Decor was lively and modern. We had a reservation, had to wait about 5 minutes, which didn't seem like a big deal to us, but the hostess was very apologetic. Margaritas and mojitos were a little high priced ($9.00), but were very good. We were actually surprised at how reasonable the food prices were. My wife had carne asada burrito, and I had the chicken breast mole'. Both were very good, and were served with black beans and cilantro rice. Our only complaint was the slooow service from the time our order was placed until we received it (and we weren't there during a busy time!) Another example of a restaurant trying to sell Mexican food that does not understand the term. From the chips and salsa we were warned this would be a bad meal since the salsas were tasteless. Our food took a long time to arrive and was also tasteless. The tamales had catsup as a sauce, the beans and rice no salt at all and the rice was not cooked well. The tortillas were hard and undercooked and the sauces on the dinners were forgetable at best. The prices we were charged were outrageous. Poor tourists and poor locals who have such bad restaurants in town. Shame on you Treasure Island.    12403
