Buzz BBQ

In one word: PHENOMENAL!

First things first, the address is 7810 W Ann Rd, and it is located in the shopping center next to Bogey’s, approximately ½ mile west of highway 95.

Now, to the nitty gritty:
From the parking lot, your mouth will instantly begin to salivate as the hickory-smoke aroma fills the air – trust me. When we walked in, the red walls and old style décor were very charming. Generous portions of food are served with generous portions of southern hospitality.

We each ordered a 2-meat combo, one of chicken and brisket, and the other of sausage and ribs so we could sample all four meats. Our combos came with two sides each, so we ordered the corn, potatoes salad, ‘slaw, and beans to get a taste of it all… The chicken was moist, tender and delicious; the brisket – best I’ve ever had; the sausage is sweet, not spicy, but soooo good when submerged in the cup of sauce they give ya; the ribs, also very yummy.

The sides were equally delicious, the slaw especially. The corn was sweet and perfect, the beans – excellent, I personally don’t like potato salad but my boyfriend ate it up without a second thought. Something important to know: you couldn’t pay me any amount of money to eat your average slaw because it’s made with mayo and mayo sucks. Buzz BBQ’s slaw contains no oil and no mayo. You must be thinking, “So it’s just a bunch of dry cabbage?” NO. It is the most flavorful thing I’ve ever tasted! It’s so crunchy and ice cold and has flavors of a salsa. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Buzz’s has homemade ice cream and Italian ice for dessert, as well as a long list of pie, including the classic apple pie. We didn’t sample any pie, but the homemade ice cream and Italian ice... WOW!

What I am trying to say is that this is honest to goodness REAL barbecue. I was born and raised here in Vegas, so what we call barbecue is hardly such. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is from Oklahoma, as is one of the owners, and good southern style barbecue is what you are served at Buzz BBQ. It’s easy to earn ‘Best of Las Vegas’ for BBQ when you don’t have any authentic competitors. Buzz BBQ will give those “other” local barbecue joints a run for their money and steal that title from ‘em in a heart beat.

They’re open seven days a week: Mon-Sat 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 pm., and Sun Noon to 6:00 p.m. Stop in today because they are having a Super Bowl 41 special. Call for details: 294-BUZZ. Seriously… do it. You’ll love it!
