I took my two little boys to Leatherby's to get some ice cream today. The prices were outrageous at over $8 for one scoop of ice cream with two cookies. The chairs and tables were all beat up and it was absolutely empty besides the 3 or 4 employees. After we were finished with our ice cream, my 14 month old son walked over to a plant by the door and touched it. One of the employees yelled out "DON'T TOUCH THAT!" and all of the other employees came running to see. They made us really uncomfortable.

My wife and I visited Leatherbys in Las Vegas after a trip to Hoover Dam. We have 2 Leatherbys back home in Sacramento and they are awesome, always busy, always good atmosphere, always clean. We were excited to have some good ice cream. What a shock the Las Vegas Leatherby's was. We entered the restaurant around 4pm and found that we were the only ones there which we found strange. Also 4 tables were covered with dirty dishes with ice cream melting away on them. Those dishes stayed there until 2 minutes before we left when the bus boy showed up. The two waitresses there had ample times to clean up the dishes but did not do so, but instead sat down in front of the cash register and read a magazine. We could not believe how different this Leatherby's was from the one back home. We actually felt uncomfortable the whole time there. We got excited when we heard the door chime ring hoping to see another visitor. Nope it was just the mail lady. We kept wondering what is wrong with this place. Was it he ugly pink paint job on the outside of the building or had someone been killed here. The food was ok. My wife's ice cream was more ice than cream. The best part of this experience was getting back in our car and getting out of there. I do not recommend the Las Vegas Leatherby's. But please do not think the Sacramento Leatheryby's are this bad. They are not and they are 1000 times better. Come visit Sacramento's Leatherby's instead of the Las Vegas one and you will see what a real Leatherby's is like.

My wife and I had been going to Leatherby's for many years. Before the new owners took over they had the best, richest french-vanilla Ice Cream you could find. Simply marvelous, sadly that is no longer the case. The menu changed and the Ice Cream is now simply mediocre - I can get better at Albertson's. Bad part of town, high prices, only accepts cash - no CC. Will never eat there again. If you want great Ice Cream try elsewhere.

They had this asian lady that was our waitress and she has the worst personality. I went there with my family and ordered the big banana split (which was 19 bucks with tax) and she was upset that I did not order more. What's it matter to her what I order? The lady needs to learn how to be friendly and how to speak english!!! Ice cream was Ok.. Value was a bit pricey.. Atmosphere is bad the place needs a major update or at least keep the place clean.. I would suggest them to call Extreme Make Over..!! I will never go there again..!! Coldstone is much better>>>>

My husband and I have gone there for 12 years. It is our favorite ice cream, even if it is a little overpriced. My mother-in-law came to visit, so we took her there. She forgot her sweater so we went back to get it. The asian waitress asked if we forgot something. I said yes her sweater. She screams at the top of her lungs YEAH AND SHE FORGOT MY TIP TOO!!!!! We had forgot to leave it and were going to, but not after that nasty comment. We use to get good service but not since there is new owners. Ice cream is delicious and the caramel is to die for, but I'm never going there again.

I've been going to Leatherby's since they were in their old location by the old Women's Hospital (the mid 80s). They've always had the best ice cream in town. Yes, they cost a bit more, but you do get a good helping. The best in my opinion in the Peanut Butter Cup Sundae. Good Stuff.

Ok I hear people complaining about the price but the size of the ice cream is huge. The regular food is only so so. Nothing special there. Service could be better but still my favorite ice cream.

when we asked about the prices, because the prices on the board was different from the prices in the menu, and we were told that one was take out and the other was sit down prices which were not indecaded. when management thought that we had left, she started to discuss the conversation said between us insultingly with the other customers there. she specifically said that if we couldnt afford to eat here than we shouldnt have come.is this the manner of which you would like your customers to be treated?

The ice cream is unbeatable. Sure it is a bit pricey but what isn't pricey these days. My personal favorite is any sundae with swiss milk chocolate ice cream the HOMEMADE caramel and chocolate whipped cream. So dreamy. They have wonderful sodas. The vanila soda is awesome with almost any flavor ice cream but my family loves it with Pistachio. Oh you do get a huge sundae for the price though.
