I had the lunch buffet and was scratching my head wondering why everyone raves about this place, the food wasn't that good, the buffet was full of obnoxious pushy people, I didn't get any service, not even one waiter came up to me to ask me what I want to drink. Maybe if I got something from the menu it would be better but even when I saw entry's taken to other patrons, I looked at the food and it was that good looking. I've had a lot better.

This has become an automatic for us on each visit to Las Vegas, so I thought it about time to update my comments. Tried a couple different things this time. Started off with a chicken soup that was extemely spicy and very good. Also tried chicken rama if I'm remembering the name correctly (a peanut sauce). Also excellent. Also included the #58 (beef something), which we have had many times and is very spicy and outstanding. This place is so good and so consistent.

February 2003 visit: Absolutely outstanding meal. Ate here with two friends. This was the second time we ate here, having had the buffet the first time. DO NOT get the buffet, order from the menu. We had an appetizer that was very good (the sour sausage with crispy rice) and each of my friends had a bowl of soup they seemed to enjoy. We each ordered an entree. I can't remember the exact name of the one I got, but it was something like pork with chilli and mint. The food is so flavorful. I sampled each of the other's meals as well and they were both great. Regarding heat; I love hot food and can usually handle very spicy dishes. So when the waiter asked on a scale of 1-10 how hot we wanted the food, we each said 7. That was a just a little too much for me and I would probably say 5 or 6 next time. Although it certainly didn't ruin the meal, I drank a lot of water! And speaking of waiters, the service here was fabulous. Very attentive and friendly.

To truly enjoy the best this restaurant offers please order off the Issan menu. Our nam kao tod (sour sausage) appetizer was an amazing assortment of textures and taste. We opted to share the spicy jackfruit curry with chicken and fried catfish w/basil entrees. Our coconut ice cream w/sticky rice and mango was flavorful, but overpriced at $9.50.

Lotus of Saim was rated the best Thai restaurant in America by the LVRJ. That might be a tough call but it sure is up there. Its small and in a very dumpy sleezy center but who cares. The food is that good. Oh I dont mean its not safe to walk outside the store. It is very safe but there are some strange and weird businesses that share the center. They also make a mean Thai iced tea.

I went with a group of 14 people. We asked the waiter to have the chef select our dishes and suprise us. The food was amazing. The best Thai I have ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant!

a wonderful find. forget the buffet. menu only. friendly staff. i cant wait until my next vegas trip. i will go again for sure. watch out for the dark parking lot-people there want your money!

Easily the best Thai restaurant in Las Vegas. In terms of value, this place is tops!

Didn't know about ordering off the menu, so had the buffet. Still pretty good.
Sweet curry puffs, pad thai, fried chicken wings were my favorites. Being
an L.A. native, I eat a lot of Thai food. This place was good. Next time I will try ordering off of the menu.

Lotus of Siam is by far the best Thai restaurant in Las Vegas. I have lived here for over 25 years and have eaten at tons of restaurants in this town, and I can tell you that you will never have Thai food better than Lotus of Siam. The curry is absolutely phenomenal, the subtle blend of coconut milk, chili and curry must be tasted to be appreciated. I can't say enough good things about this treasure of a restaurant.
