We have enjoyed eating at the Charleston resturant for the last 20 years. We
had our wedding dinner there 20 years ago. However we have become a little
disapointed this year. We have also gone to the Summerlain Macayo's and found
this to be true. There no longer are any placemats, and no tomatoes on the
salads. When we go out we like something different other than what I do at home. We will still visit Macayo's to eat as we like the food. The specialness has just been taken away. I know it is to probably save money and cut corners where you can, but now I rate you as fast eat out style.

My sister and I met here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and it was great! The serrvice was excellent, very attentive, and friendly and the food was delicious, hot and fresh! We had eaten at W. Sahara location a few months ago, but we much preferred this location since it's a lot closer to home. Plus it was quiet and not too crowded. We will definitely be eating here again.    13936

My family and I made the mistake of having dinner at Macayo Vegas last night. I have to say this has probably been the WORST dining experience we have ever had. The night started with a stressed-out hostess who barely muttered two words, gave us menus, and ran away. The menu had a lot to choose from, but the price breakdown was a bit confusing. We ordered two 3-item combo plates and a burger plate. The server asked us if we wanted rice and beans and we said, naturally. It is a Mexican food restaurant after all. After, more than 1/2 an hour, we finally got our food. The burger that was ordered well-done came back pink and raw. This was disgusting. So, the server took it back to the kitchen and brought back the same burger that had been bitten into, except now it was re-grilled...how gross and unsanitary! Meanwhile, we are having to wave someone down for a refill, napkins, etc. If you want something at Macayo's, you have to ask for it, believe me. We finished up as fast as possible and took the check up to pay. Upon looking at the check, we noticed we were charged $2.25 extra per combo plate for rice and beans. When we asked why, the cashier said we ordered the Deluxe plates, which means a customer pays extra for the rice and beans. What kind of restaurant, especially Mexican restaurant, charges extra for two of the least expensive foods you can imagine? This was our first visit to Macayo's and definitely the LAST. EXCELLENT! This is our very favorite restaurant in Las Vegas and we eat here every week! Authentic Mexican food. Super menu selection. Great prices. Large portions. Two types of salsa.... smooth and chunky. Some of my favorite dishes are pork carnitas, chile relleno, California burrito (this thing is HUGE!), and the chimichangas. The cheese TCT and the bean dip are yummy appetizers.
There are several locations in town, but this particular restaurant is the BEST and the only one we eat at!
Go on a Friday evening about 5 or 6pm. Ask to sit in "Linda and Manuela's" station in the back of the restaurant. Tell Linda that Kassie and Jim sent you! You'll get the best service ever!    7709
