When founders Lauren Gartner and Edna Bayliff experienced vacation yearnings for big, gooey, juicy, five-napkin cheeseburgers, their solution was to purchase the best ocean front location on Maui and create the wildly popular restaurant, Cheeseburger in Paradise. Their theme, Cheeseburgers, Mai tais & Rock N Roll, has expanded to other exotic locations. The Waikiki restaurant opened in November 1997, Puerto Vallarta opened in November 1999, the second location on Maui at Wailea opened in July 2001 and Cheeseburger at the Oasis at Desert Passage in Las Vegas opened in January 2002. All of the restaurants have the same successful recipe, which includes fantastic food, great value, and amazing service.
